Price formation without fuel costs: The interaction of demand elasticity with storage bidding
We investigate several contradictions seen in the literature about the viability of electricity markets at high penetrations of wind and solar. Price structure of many zero- and high-price hours is a symptom of capacity expansion models using inelastic demand.

Mitigating Ukraine's Looming Electricity Crisis
To mitigate an impact of the ongoing electricity crisis in Ukraine, we propose establishing an energy situation room, empowering municipalities, and using market mechanisms to allocate donor support for rapid deployment of technical solutions.

On the means, costs, and system-level impacts of 24/7 carbon-free energy procurement
We use a mathematical model to examine different designs, optimal procurement strategies, costs, and impacts of the 24/7 CFE matching, both for participating buyers and for regions where voluntary procurement occurs.
